Nevada County Swings!

A lindy hop and swing dancing community for all ages

We’re here to build a lindy hop & swing dancing community

Alison and Janice met in Grass Valley and realized they shared a common dream - to establish a local lindy hop and swing dancing community to complement existing dance programs in Roseville, Reno and Sacramento.

Cultivate joy through dance

Take the first step

Whether you’re an experienced dancer or have never participated in a social dance - we have a spot for you! The most important dance step is the first step - and that is the decision to join us.

Learn swing and partner dancing basics

A strong foundation of basic six count rhythm and the psychology of partner dancing is key. Learn how to build trust and communication on the dance floor. An introduction to swing and partner dance communication is included at every Nevada County Swings! dance. Here’s a great blog post on the psychology of partner dance: The Psychology of Partner Dancing: Building Trust and Communication on the Dance Floor — Lisa Vegas Dance

Express your joy

Once you have the basics down, you can ham it up and express your individuality and joy through the many forms of swing, lindy hop, charleston and jazz.

Share the joy

Encourage new dancers, invite your friends, spread the word. Build our community
